This is a beautiful 24 K Ohm Star Mandala Thangka Painting from Nepal. I brought it back with me from my last trip there. It has gorgeous detail and a nice 3-D effect. The canvas is in excellent shape as well.
Ohm is thought to be the original vibratory sound of the universe and provides a powerful spiritual focal point for the mandala.
The Mandala is regarded as the most auspicious diagram in both Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. It is timeless and all embracing. The center is eternal and its periphery perfection. Mandalas were introduced by the preceptors and masters of the philosophy as a medium of worship to attain a better life and help free ones life of all sorts of worldly miseries.
Thangka paintings take a long time to make. Generally it takes the artist a few weeks to a month or more depending on the intricacy and detail of the painting.
I know whoever gets this painting is going to be very happy with it.
There is a very feint stain in the upper right blue star point. Not very noticeable flaws but still I have discounted the painting some for this.
